Dice frequencies
There are eight different bets in Sic-Bo
with many variations, they are:
Single number bets -
Single bets are normally located at the bottom of the
table layout, which is divided into six areas –
one for each dice number.
A single dice bet is a wager on which numbers will
be showing up after the dice are rolled. If one of the
three dice shows the number that you have bet on, you
win and get paid at odds of 1:1. If two numbers show
up, the odds improve to 2:1 and if all three dice show
the number you have chosen, you get paid out at 3:1.
Two dice bets – Two number combinations
are bets that involve placing a wager on any 2 dice
to come up. If for instance you bet on a 1-2 combination,
you would win your bet if the 3 dice showed 1-2 and
any other dice. You would not win more than once if
the numbers showed 1-2-1 or 1-2-2. The payout for a
two dice bet is normally either 5-1 or 6-1.
Pair – This is similar to a
two dice bet, but is a bet on one particular pair to
be present in the three dice that are rolled. The payoff
is normally between 8:1 and 11:1, which may make it
seem more appealing than a two dice bet, but the house
edge is actually higher.
Triplets – A triplet occurs
when all three dice show the same digit. You only win
a triplet if the numbers you have bet on show up on
all three dice. Payout varies from 120:1 to 180:1.
Any triplet – This is a bet
that a triplet will occur, but one which does not specify
which triplet. In other words it is a bet that is split
between all six different triplets. Payouts normally
come in around 25:1.
Small or Big – These bets allow
you to wager on whether the combined result of the roll
will be either between four and ten (Small Bet) or between
eleven and seventeen (Big Bet). All casinos will pay
out at evens (1:1) for these bets. Normally, if the
result of the dice roll is a triplet, both Small and
Big Bets lose.
Three number totals – This is
a bet on the specific total of the three dice. Triple
3s and triple 6s are not catered for and will lead to
all three number total bets losing. Because of the different
frequencies of the different totals, they all have different
returns, which can vary from casino to casino.
Multiple bets are accepted in Sic Bo, which is not
surprising given the large house edge on most of them.
